It was September 2007 when cricket fans around the world was celebrating new avatar of cricket that T20 cricket short format of cricket
This short format makes cricket more exciting and entertaining. As it decided match result just in 3 hours which like movie for cricket which is more interesting than lengthy ODI game or 5 days test cricket.
Inaugural edition of world T20 was played in South Africa between 11 September to 24 September 2007.
There were 16 participants in this tournament
All eyes on high voltage final match between India and Pakistan was played on 24 September 2007 at Johannesburg in South Africa.
Betting market was very hot then as arch rival would be fight for world first T20 title.
India won the toss decided to bat first. India maked 157 runs in 20 overs with lost of 5 wickets.
In response to 158 runs target pakistan lost fish wickets just at 2 runs on board but after that Pakistani batsman shifted agressive mode and slowly taking grip over match.
India maked good come back
After 10 overs of Pakistan innings indian maked good comeback in the match. Pakistan had lost 7 wickets at 107 runs after 16 overs.
Pakistan needed 51 runs from 24 balls at the rate 12.75 per over.
Misbah-ul-haq attacked in Harbhajan Singh over
When Pakistan needed 51 runs 24 balls Misbah-ul-haq hitted 3 back to back sixes in Harbhajan Singh over. Misbah-ul-haq and Sohail Tanveer together maked 31 runs in two overs and Pakistan maked comeback in the match.
Last over Thriller
Pakistan needed 13 runs in 6 balls. Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni gave bowl to Joginder Sharma hand to bowl final over of the match which was most challenging task for any bowler in the world as it is final game of world tournament.
This was the time which would make Joginder hero in one condition or Zero in another. It was Do or die condition for him.
Pressure was clearly seen on Joginder Sharma as he bowled wide first ball. Misbah-ul-haq hitted six on second delivery of the over.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni encouraged Joginder Sharma to ball with cool mind whatever would be outcome..
Mahendra Singh Dhoni was better known that what would Misbah-ul-haq do next ball.
On 3rd ball Misbah-ul-haq want to hit back but ball went too hight to get runs. S.Sreesanth took beautiful catch and India won the first world T20 final by 5 runs.
